Kyle S. Wells, PhD, is Professor of Finance at Utah Tech University (2006–present) and served as Dean of the College of Business from 2014 to 2023. As dean, he secured $3.51M in grants and $3.13M in private funding; advanced AACSB accreditation to candidacy (2022); launched the university’s first master’s program (MAcc, 2018); and led the creation of Atwood Innovation Plaza. He expanded concurrent-enrollment offerings and improved efficiency, with SCH up 30% and cost per SCH down 24% (2017–2023). His research on capital structure and sale-leasebacks has been published in the Journal of Corporate Finance and the Journal of Applied Finance. He currently chairs the trustees for the Academy for Global Business Advancement (AGBA.us). He served on the Board of Directors for the Zion Forever Project (2018-2025), adding nearly a million dollars in investment income, and served on the Zions Bank Regional Advisory Board. Wells holds a PhD (University of Utah), an MBA (University of Arizona), a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering (University of Utah), and an AS (Dixie College).
